Yearly Health Reviews

If you have a long term health condition, you will be invited around the month of your birth for a health review with a health care assistant, you may also  be directed to specialist reviews if required.

Asthma Clinics

People of any age with asthma are welcome, we review your symptoms, give advice on inhaler techniques, check peak flow readings and discuss any problems you may have, please consult your health care professional.

Diabetes

For all diabetic patients, we review your blood results and treatments as well as offering general health advice. Please consult your health care professional for further information.

Blood Pressure

Everyone with high blood pressure is encouraged to attend surgery for blood pressure checks and reviews. For more information please consult your health care professional.

Contraception

We are able to advise on and supply a full range of contraceptives. Your doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse will be happy to discuss these with you in consultation.

We are able to advise on Emergency Contraception, LARC (Long-Acting Reversible Contraception, such as Contraceptive Implants; Contraceptive Injections; IUDs and IUSs), “the Pill”, Condoms and a wide-range of other options.

Ante-Natal Care

We run a comprehensive antenatal service to care for you throughout pregnancy, with combined care by the midwife and doctor.

Child Immunisation Clinic

Clinics are held on Wednesday 13:30 – 15:30 and Thursday 10:30 – 12:30.

For your baby’s first injection, you will be sent an appointment offering these services at regular intervals.

Flu Vaccinations

If you have long term chest, heart or kidney disease a flu vaccination is recommended. If you are 65 and over, or fall into any of the at-risk groups please contact the surgery.

Pneumonia Vaccine

Adults aged 65 and over should now be immunised to help protect them against pneumococcal infection, which can cause diseases such as pneumonia septicaemia (blood poisoning) and meningitis. If you do not receive an invitation to attend for a routine jab, please contact the surgery.

Travel Vaccinations

If you are going abroad, please book a telephone consultation with one of the practice nurses regarding holiday injections such as typhoid, Hepatitis A, etc. We can advise on the nearest Yellow Fever Centre.

Phlebotomy (blood taking)

This is a service provided in the surgery for patients referred by a health care professional, please contact reception for appointment availability.

Cytology Services

All female patients between the ages of 25 – 64 years will be invited on a recall basis for a cervical smear test.

Over 75yrs

If you have not seen a health care professional during the past 12 months, we would be happy to offer you a consultation. This service is only offered at your request. Make an appointment with your health care professional.

Learning Disability Reviews

For patients with significant learning disability we offer a yearly review of health, medication and care needs with our lead nurse practitioner.
