Your local pharmacist may be able to give you the help you need.

Pharmacists are highly trained health professionals, and offer a wide range of health services. Your local pharmacist will be able to offer you expert advice and medicines for a wide range of common ailments without the need to visit your GP. No appointment is necessary and where appropriate, medicines are free of charge.

Opticians, dentists and podiatrists are also often accessible for specialised  problems and will refer back to general practice if they feel it is appropriate.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

Telephone advice

The doctors are happy to consult over the phone. These can be very useful for discussing medication problems, test results or for anything that does not require the GP to examine you for.

Video consultations

Our healthcare professionals will conduct some consultations via a video link.

Nurse practitioners

The majority of minor illness and on the day appointments can be dealt with by a nurse practitioner who can also prescribe as required.

Self check in

Self check in is an easy to use touch screen system that allows patients to check themselves in for appointments. Please help keep the queues down at reception by checking yourself in.

Home visits

The doctor may visit you at home if you are too ill to come to the surgery. This service is reserved for housebound patients only.

We have a modern, fully-equipped surgery and it is better for you to use it when possible. If you feel that you need a visit the same day, please contact the surgery before 10:30am and follow the phone system instructions.

A clinician will assess the request before visiting and may call first.

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP.
